There has apparently been some confusion concerning the availability of Collection 4 data products from LAADS and from the GES DAAC and hopefully the following explanation will mitigate any end user problems.

Collection 4 L1

LAADS provides on-line access to Collection 5 L1 products. This includes products for the complete Aqua interval and Terra products except for the latter part of 2002 and 2003-4. These products are undergoing reprocessing which will be completed by late-January, 2007. Collection 4 L1 products can be provided but need to be generated on a processing-on-demand basis. LAADS is presently being modified to include an order page for Collection 4 L1 products. In the interim, requests for these data should be submitted to Mike Teague at opsman@saicmodis.com. Of course, for the intervals for which Collection 5 data are available, it is recommended that these are used over Collection 4 data.

Collection 4 L2

LAADS provides on-line access to Collection 5 atmospheres L2 and L3 products. These are presently available for the same time intervals given above for L1 products. LAADS also contains all Collection 4 L3 atmospheres products for Terra and Aqua and some L2 products for Terra. These include 2006, most of 2004 and some of 2003 (Data Availability). Additional Terra L2 data are being transferred from the GES DAAC for 2002-4. In addition L2 and L3 atmospheres products are available through LAADS for Collections 3 and 4 for the "Golden Month". At present, and L2 products not available through LAADS are being distributed by the GES DAAC. However, LAADS is being modified to include an order page for all Collection 4 L2 data for Terra and Aqua. Any data not included in LAADS will be generated on a processing-on-demand basis.
